Fans of the distillery will know that means a truly peaty customer, with lots of spice and power amplified by the virgin oak casks this heavily peated Lagavulin was aged in, alongside American oak refill casks. Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt Nose: Bonfire, bacon, and popcorn with some seaweed coastal notes, really strong saline influence. Palate: Positively crackles with black pepper, sweet toffee, and smoky wood. Finish: Big chilli peppers balanced with caramel. Overall: Beautifully balanced classic Lagavulin, American oak sweetness really suits this.
